澳洲2016年推出的高考HSC教学最大改革，关系到每个家庭，可能还有很多家长不清楚这一改革。有些读者打电话询问今年的HSC考试情况，我们在此借 “澳洲生活网” 为大家理出以下要点。
中学生必须达到最少Band 8
第一件事是，2016年7月19日，NSW Minister for Education, Adrian Piccoli在Cherrybrook Technology High School宣布：中学生必须通过基本读、写、算的全国HSC考试，达到最少Band 8（最高成绩为Band 10）的成绩，才能最后取得HSC的高中毕业文凭；否则，只能拿初中毕业文凭RoSA.
具体内容是：从2016年8年级学生开始，HSC考试日期为2017年5月9日-11日三天，NAPLAN，为全国统考，读、写、算必须达到Band 8。（Students in Year 9 from 2017 will be able to meet the standard by achieving Band 8 in NAPLAN in reading, writing and numeracy. ）
根据往年数据，有一半的9年级学生无法达标。所以，以后7年级、8年级、9年级的学生也得好好读书，起码最基本的测试你得争取过；不能像以前，有的学生可以靠打拼10年级、11年级、12年级，则前面如果没用功，好像关系不大。
对于没达标的学生，政府也想好办法了：从2018年起，10、11、12年级的学生可以继续在网上进行读、写、算测试，有多次机会；如果到12年级结束时还过不了测试，12年级后还有5年的机会可以不断地考。什么时候考过，什么时候拿高中毕业文凭。这好像跟精英中学学生的关系不大，也许只有那些5%的最差的学生要小心。（From 2018, an online literacy and numeracy test will be available for students to demonstrate they have met the standard. ）
最重要17门科目的高考大纲改革草案
第二件事是，2016年7月21日，Board of Studies president Tom Alegounarias公布了英文、数学、科学、历史等最重要17门科目的高考大纲改革草案，咨询公众意见。计划方案通过后，给与老师一年的缓冲期。
- 2018年11年级学生，开始使用新大纲；
- 2019年12年级学生，增加科学加深科目：Science Extension （2018年10月开始读Science Extension）；
- 2016年9年级学生，开始使用新大纲。

大家比较关注的数学会怎么变
注重抽象问题的实际应用：所有的数学课程都将教授统计学，并引入个人理财知识。4单元数学课程会更艰深。（In Maths, there is a new focus on teaching its practical applications for abstract problems by introducing personal finance and statistics at all levels, including Extension Maths. At the highest level, Extension 2 Maths is expected to become more complex. ）
