7月6日，布里斯本南部一條主要高速公路發生車禍，一名兒童目前命危，在醫院搶救。

下午約 2 時 15 分，這名小學年齡的兒童乘坐一輛 Nissan 旅行車，行經距離布里斯本市中心（CBD）西南方約一小時車程的Gleneagle路段時，在 Mount Lindesay Highway 與一輛 Subaru 轎車發生碰撞。

該兒童傷勢危及生命，由直升機自事故現場送往昆士蘭兒童醫院（Queensland Children』s Hospital）接受治療。

一名 50 多歲女子傷勢危急，被送往 Princess Alexandra醫院；另一名傷勢危及生命的成年傷者則被送往 Logan醫院。

另有一名少女傷勢穩定，被送往昆士蘭兒童醫院。

事故發生後，Mount Lindesay Highway 與 Gould Hill Road 及 Outlook Boulevard 交會路口雙向封閉，預計將持續封閉一段時間。
